The Obama White House launched a new web site makinghomeaffordable.gov to give homeowners a one-stop shop to start to research options to reduce mortgage payments and prevent foreclosures. The new website offers free assistance to home owners who may be in trouble--or just want to take advantage of new programs to refinance at lower rates. There's also help in finding counselors to help navigate through the often complicated process.
